The Humble Shield from Humble Lamb

I’m excited to get to review something a bit different today. When I saw that Humble Lamb was releasing a Bible bag, I knew I wanted to check it out! Most who know me know that I’m a big fan of high quality leather goods. I’ve reviewed boots on my blog, premium Bibles, and I’m excited to finally get to review a high quality leather bag. When I opened up the Humble Shield, I can tell you that I was not disappointed. Let’s jump into the details.

A premium product deserves premium packaging. When I took the Humble Shield out of the box, every metal clasp was wrapped to protect this leather. That’s something I love to see and it’s something that screams premium. I was delighted to find out that these bags are handcrafted. They also come with a lifetime warranty. With this bag you’re not just protecting your Bible, you’re investing in a high quality, lifetime product that’s built to live it up to it’s title—Shield.

The bag itself is beautiful. It’s a tan messenger bag style. The bag is made from full-grain calfskin leather that’s been naturally milled to enhance it’s softness. I did notice that this is a super soft leather. It feels great. Two critiques I will mention is that the leather is so soft that it it’s prone to show indentions. The circular magnets of the bag show through this leather, which gives it an interesting look. They could have possibly put some padding over those in construction to give it a mooth look, but I’m not sure if that would have affected performance. Also, the tag of my bag was packaged on the front and there is a line indention from where the tag was pressed in. I don’t know if that will eventually come out of not, but it is worth mentioning. All that being said, the leather is beautiful.

I love the attention to detail in this bag. The “by Humble Lamb” tag and the shield logo in the bottom corner are very nice touches. The two tone leather and cotton strap is also stunning! The bag comes with a draw string bag to store your premium bag when it not in use. That’s another small detail that speaks to the high quality of the Humble Shield. Let me also mention that I do love the use of magnets for ease of access and quick access to your contents inside.

Inside the bag is where you can tell that this is built for taking care of your items. The whole interior is wrapped in a velvet like material! It’s awesome! I have no worries about throwing a premium Bible or an iPad into this bag. Whatever you put in is going to be taken care of. I also love the 1st Edition Humble Shield leather insert that’s sewn in. That’s an awesome touch!

You’ll find two main compartments inside. The back one looks like it could be solely for your Bible or iPad. The front one has a deep zipper pocket on the divider itself. You could put papers, jump drives, or various other items in here you don’t want to lose. There are also three other pockets sewn into the front. Two are for pens and pencils and one is a great size for tracts or a Field Notes style pocket notebook. The front main compartment is also wider so you could fit a host of things in this pocket—or if you’re like me—another Bible!

All in all, I find this to be an awesome bag from Humble Lamb. It’s construction is extremely high quality, the leather is super nice, and it has a lifetime warranty! That’s hard to beat. I also find it to be a great size. It’s not too small and not too large. I think it’s the perfect size for the purpose in which it was designed.

I was excited to get to review this awesome bag and I’m even happier that I can whole heartedly recommend it to you. The Humble Shield is a great product meant to last a lifetime and protect the things that you use every day.
