First Impressions
I believe the color is called Candy Blue — not Candy Apple — and it absolutely shines. This rebind from Deus Vult (yes, I double-checked the pronunciation) is named after a phrase from the Crusades, “Deus Vult,” meaning “God wills it.”
Whatever you think about the name, one thing is undeniable — this is a gorgeous Bible. The way that color shifts in the light is mesmerizing. The sole goat skin feels smooth yet tough in the hand. It’s a tactile joy to hold and read from.

Details That Stand Out
Let’s talk craftsmanship.
- Perimeter stitching: A classy, durable touch that frames the leather beautifully.
- Four blue ribbon markers: I didn’t even specify how many I wanted, but four is the perfect number. You can never have too many bookmarks in a preaching Bible.
- Liner color: I chose navy lambskin for the interior, though black was also an option. Either way, both are premium choices.

Why Rebinds Are So Special
Getting a Bible rebound is a deeply personal experience. It’s custom work — made exactly how you want it. You choose your rebinder, your leather, your ribbons, your liner, your details.
And every rebinder has their own process, their own unique style. Some are seasoned pros, others are newer to the craft — and that often affects price.
But let me tell you: Deus Vult is an excellent rebinder.
Design Features I Love
- Full yapp: The soft leather folds beautifully over the page edges.
- Raised spine hubs with gold stamping: Elegant and balanced — I didn’t even specify this, but the result is perfect.
- Speckled page edges: Absolutely stunning. I didn’t ask for a specific color, but Deus Vult delivered the best speckling job I’ve ever seen. The blue flecks over the gold gilt make the Bible look both classic and unique.
Now, I know some people don’t care for speckled edges, but I’m a huge fan. It gives the Bible so much personality.

Inside, you’ll also notice:
- A gold gilt line framing the inner cover — crisp, clean, and beautifully executed.
- His stamp on the back cover — placed in the bottom right corner rather than centered. I think that was a deliberate design choice, and I love it. It’s subtle, yet distinct.
- Corner work: Absolutely fantastic. You just don’t get this kind of detail on stock Bibles — not even on high-end editions like Schuyler or Allan.

A Small Critique
If I had to offer one small critique, it’s this:
On my copy, the logo stamp on the spine is just a touch off-center. It’s not distracting, and honestly, it might even be intentional. Either way, it doesn’t take away from the beauty or craftsmanship at all.

The cardstock end sheets are thick and sturdy, adding to the premium feel. Every other detail — from the stitching to the binding — shows true skill and care.
Final Thoughts
I’ve been using this Bible every morning for my personal study time, and I absolutely love it. It’s one of those Bibles that makes you want to open it and spend time in the Word.
If you’re considering a rebind, I can’t recommend Deus Vult enough. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and artistic touch set him apart.
