The Pastor's Kid by Barnabas Piper: A Book Review

I’m a first generation pastor. By that, I mean that neither my dad nor my grandfathers were pastors. Pastoring is new territory for me and I definitely still have a lot to learn. One thing I do know though is that my kids will experience something completely different as children of a pastor than I did growing up. I want navigate that as best I can, which is why I’m grateful for Barnabas Piper’s book, The Pastor’s Kid.

The ESV Pastor's Bible Review

You just can’t have it all when it comes to Bibles. At least that’s the way I feel. I think a Pastor’s Bible is a really cool concept and I really enjoyed getting to review the CSB Pastor’s Bible. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to get to review the ESV one. There were things I loved about the CSB and I find there are things I love about the ESV. I really wish I could combine certain features from the two and create one powerhouse Pastor’s Bible. You can’t have it all though so let’s talk about the features that come in this ESV Pastor’s Bible. 

The ESV Preaching Bible Review

I’m really excited about the Bible I get to share with you today. Admittedly, it’s not for everyone given the name, but honestly, whether you’re a preacher or not, I think you will really like this Bible. The ESV Preaching Bible from Crossway is what I would almost consider my perfect Bible for preaching

Pastors are Sinners Too

Do people have a perfect picture of pastors in their heads? I’m not sure, but I do know that pastors need grace, love, and mercy from their congregation just as much as any member. Congregations expecting perfection from their pastors will be let down.
