The LSB Large Print Wide Margin Hardcover Bible

There’s something to be said for a good hardcover. They are workhorses. They’re durable and can stand up to being put in a backpack or messenger bag. They’re cost effective. In the case of the LSB Large Print Wide Margin from Steadfast Bibles, it is really, really nice! Let’s talk about what makes this hardcover such a great Bible!

As far as looks go, this Bible keeps it simple. It’s black with the LSB logo and “LEGACY STANDARD BIBLE” printed in gold on the front. The spine says in gold, “HOLY BIBLE”, has the LSB logo along with “LEGACY STANDARD BIBLE”, and “STEADFAST BIBLES”. It also has five decorative gold bars creating a very clean look.

There are black head and tail bands and one double-sided satin, shiny black ribbon bookmark. I do wish they had decided to go with at least two for a Bible of this size. The Handy-Sized hardcover had two and I would have loved to see them follow that design. The page edges are white.

This Bible is smyth-sewn for durability, which you’ll want for a Bible of this size! Inside, there’s a white paper paste-down liner.

Inside is where this Bible truly shines. Even in the hardcover, you’re getting amazing paper! This is a 40 gsm paper, which makes it excellent for writing. It’s a true white. I will say that there is still some ghosting, but the text is line-matched so the black text jumps off the page! Words of Christ are in red, which surprises me for this edition, but in my hardcover it’s a nice, dark, uniform red. The font size is 10.5 and it looks great! I love large fonts in Bibles so I’m a really big fan of this edition. Book names, page headings, and chapter numbers are also accented in red.

The layout is a single-column, verse-by-verse format meaning each verse starts on a new line. This is actually my favorite layout, but I do know it isn’t for everyone. The margins in this Bible give great room for notes! It has 1.33 inch outer margins, which make this an amazing note taking Bible. Even more so, at the back of this Bible are 14 dot matrix pages for additional notes! This is truly a notetaker’s Bible.

This Bible is printed and bound in Korea. I’m truly impressed by the quality and price of this bible. I think if you’re looking to begin exploring the LSB then this Bible is where you want to start. I also think that if you’re hesitant to write in nicer Bibles (like I am) then this is a great Bible to pick up and mark up. It’s truly hard to imagine a better hardcover at this price.
