The Legacy Standard Bible 2 Column Verse-by-Verse in Black Faux Leather
The LSB is such a good translation and the people over at Steadfast Bibles are making such amazing editions. The thing I love is that they’re making great hardcovers all the way to great premiums. Today, I’m reviewing something in between. Let’s check out the LSB 2 Column Verse-by-Verse Indexed in black faux leather.
Even the faux leather editions from Steadfast wow me. This comes in a slip cover and the faux leather feels really nice in the hand. The grain stamping looks great. It’s sewn around the edges.
The spine is blind stamped so this has an all black look that I really love. The spine also has a really clean look. One thing the LSB design has done is go asymmetrical with the spine hubs or stamped bars. This one has blind stamped bars that feature three on the top and two on the bottom. They’re spaced so there is a lot of room for the LSB logo as well as the words “LEGACY STANDARD BIBLE”. This really sets that logo off and creates an awesome look you don’t see on many Bibles.
The page edges are white on this edition and there are recessed index tabs. Index tabs aren’t my preference, but I do think they’re useful and I certainly find myself making use of them at times when they’re there. There is one thin, gold double-sided satin ribbon in this edition.
Inside features a black vinyl paste-down liner and black vinyl end sheets. The Bible is Smyth-sewn for durability.
This Bible truly shines on the inside. You get a two column layout on 32 GSM paper that looks fantastic. It features a 10 point font and the words are line-matched for even better visibility. This is a verse-by-verse layout with bold verse numbers indicating new paragraphs. There are footnotes for weights, measures, and currency explanation. This is a great layout for a Bible! If that’s not enough, the back features 12 dot matrix pages for notes.
I love this Bible layout! It’s nice a portable, the faux leather feels great, and there’s room for notes. This is an excellent offering from Steadfast and one I highly recommend.
