I have never used a Pastor’s Bible before, but after looking at this one, I can see how valuable they are. We will get into the features soon, but let me just say from the start that Holman has created a nice bible here.
Welcome to my blog. I mostly write about Christian Living, but I enjoy the Kentucky Wildcats, New Orleans Saints, and a good cup of coffee.
I have never used a Pastor’s Bible before, but after looking at this one, I can see how valuable they are. We will get into the features soon, but let me just say from the start that Holman has created a nice bible here.
I think that’s the case for every true follower of Jesus. We want to know God’s will. We want to follow His plan. We want things to go well for us. We want favor and want to operate in the best possible circumstances. Maybe that’s why trying to discern a calling and following God’s will can really stress us out…
I’m really excited about the Bible I get to share with you today. Admittedly, it’s not for everyone given the name, but honestly, whether you’re a preacher or not, I think you will really like this Bible. The ESV Preaching Bible from Crossway is what I would almost consider my perfect Bible for preaching
I listen to Robby Gallaty’s Discipleship Podcast pretty regularly, but I had never read a book by him. When the opportunity came to review Here and Now I jumped on it. Gallaty, the senior pastor of Long Hollow Baptist Church, makes the bold claim in this book that heaven is available to us today. He will explain what he means by that audacious statement throughout the book.
I saw a video the other day advocating that parents skip church on some Sunday mornings to go and have church with their kids in some location like the park or by the lake. The guy was arguing that a.) the church is a people and not a place and b.) that parents should be the primary ones teaching their kids about God
The closest I’ve ever felt to being famous was one summer in between college semesters. I spent two months as missionary in the bush in Sudan…
It’s been an extremely wet winter in Kentucky—not snow—rain. Just when you think the rain is over, it starts again. It recently has started flooding. We’re over-saturated. People have been making memes, jokes, and threats to move. God promised to never destroy humanity again by flooding the earth, but He didn’t make any promises about Kentucky.
My two year old daughter is so full of energy that by the time bedtime hits (7:30 pm) I am ready to crumple into bed and pass out myself…
The Church has often mistakenly treated marriage like some sort of holy grail…
As a husband, I’ve had more than my fair share of screw ups. I have and will continue to make mistakes because I’m not perfect. I do apologize to my wife regularly and ask for her forgiveness. But the picture I’m aiming to project is much different than what television or movies depict.
Visuals are important. How something appears can leave a lasting impression. In a day where many books are actually judged by their covers, Crossway has taken notice and created the ESV Illuminated Bible, Art Journaling Addition. It truly has a beautiful cover, but there’s much more to it than that.
