Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mostly write about Christian Living, but I enjoy the Kentucky Wildcats, New Orleans Saints, and a good cup of coffee.

The CSB He Reads Truth Bible Review

The CSB He Reads Truth Bible Review

I honestly didn’t think I’d care much about the CSB He Reads Truth Bible. I saw many people talking about it and anticipating it, but I really thought it was just a ploy to get men to purchase a Bible. I didn’t think it would be anything special. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

When my grey review copy came in the mail I didn’t immediately flip through it. I wanted to wait and spend some time when I could focus and actually look it over. A few days later I picked up the Bible and began to look in it. I was blown away by the useful features, nice graphic designs, and organization of this Bible. But before we get to those things, let’s talk about the one con that I think both the He Reads Truth Bible and She Reads Truth Bible are known for.

Because both Bibles are so thick, their pages are pretty thin. There is definite noticeable ghosting through the pages. In fact, this seems to be the chief complaint about these Bibles. Ghosting bothers people and distracts them. I typically don’t notice it too much once I get focused, but others seem to be more affected. All I can say is that I would argue that the pros of this Bible outweigh the one con.

Features of this Bible include 66 hand-lettered key verses, 17 full-color timelines, 21 maps, 126 infographics (including charts, lists, and illustrations), reading plans for every book of the Bible, one-year Bible reading plan, detailed book introductions, key verse list, smyth-sewn binding, two colored ribbon markers, and wide margins for journaling and note taking. You can find it in several styles including cloth over board, genuine leather, and Leathertouch.

The Bible itself is thick, but it is feature-rich. I’ve included a comparison below of the size with The Ancient Faith Study Bible and The CSB Study Bible. It is about the same thickness, but as you can see, is not quite as long. The pages have an off-white color to them and I’ve heard that line matching was implemented in the text to at least try and help minimize the ghosting, but that is hard to accomplish with all the different charts and graphics.

I’ve included some pictures below for a visual, but what I really found helpful were the infographics throughout the Bible. I think the reader will also find the book introductions very helpful. All of this is useful information. I love the graphics containing the different emotions in the Psalms, the Psalms teaching on lament, the spiritual gifts, and many more. These do not only contain helpful information, but they are presented in a very attractive way that will please the reader. In fact, these are what convinced me that this Bible was much more useful and appealing than I thought it would be.

This Bible is laid out in a single column format with wide margins. This has come to be my preferred Bible layout. I haven’t tried writing in this Bible, but to minimize ghosting, I imagine you would want to do so with a pencil. The font itself is an 8.5 point, which reads well. All in all, this Bible has a very attractive layout.

In summary, I suggest you check out my photos above to really see the beauty of this Bible. If somehow they could manage to include thicker pages without creating a thicker Bible, it would be perfect, but unfortunately that’s not possible. I still think this a worthy Bible for your shelf and for the price, it’s an incredible resource. I think you’ll find The CSB He Reads Truth Bible to be a nice surprise.
