Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mostly write about Christian Living, but I enjoy the Kentucky Wildcats, New Orleans Saints, and a good cup of coffee.

The NKJV Epistles and Revelation Bible Journal Set from Thomas Nelson

I’ve become a huge fan of Bible Journals for a lot of different reasons. I think they are incredibly useful and underrated. Thomas Nelson makes truly beautiful Bible Journals. Their design is awesome and they make them in sets that allow you to buy several at once without having to commit to an entire Old Testament or New Testament set. This makes their sets affordable as well. I’m reviewing the set that includes the Epistles and Revelation. Let’s take a look at them.

To start, let me say that I’ve handled both the ESV and CSB Journals and there are a couple of things that really set the NKJV BIble Journals apart. I’ll discuss those as we look more in depth at this Journal Set. First, as I said earlier, I love that you can buy smaller boxes. My set begins with Romans and ends with Revelation. It’s a small box, which means I have many more options of where to store as opposed to my CSB Old Testament set, which requires some major shelf space. If you’re really into books, you know how precious shelf space can be. With the NKJV box sets, you can place them on various shelves if you like, which means you don’t have to as much dedicated room.

I also like how the NKJV has given different colors to their sets. I think this creates a really beautiful look, especially if you were to sit them all beside each other on a shelf. My set is dark grey. I really love the cover design. This is one aspect that sets these journals apart. The cover has the book name stamped in Gold and then printed in white is a verse that is contained within that book. The Romans journal says, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” It gives the journal a really cool look in my opinion.

The paper inside also sets these apart. The ESV and CSB use a cream colored paper, but the NKJV is a true white. The paper is nice and thick and there’s no ghosting, which is another reason I love Bible journals. What color paper you like best is solely preferential in this case. However, a feature I love with the NKJV that the two others don’t have are book introductions. In the intro section, you get information about the author, the time of writing, key verses in the book, the theme, and how Christ is emphasized in the book. It’s really cool and really useful in my opinion.

The page layout is great as well. It is a single column paragraph layout on one page with lined paper for journaling on the page adjacent. Translator footnotes are at the bottom of each page. The font is the NKJV Comfort Print, which I really like and I couldn’t locate the size, but my guess is that it would have to be about an 11 or 12 point, which is nice and big.

The back of each journal has extra lined paper for more notes or whatever you’d like to put there.

As I said above, I really like these Bible journals. I think there are so many uses for them and they are so well designed. You can buy them in small boxes by category or you can buy them one book at a time. However you decide to do it, I think you’ll be really pleased with these useful Bible journals.

You can pick up your Bible journals on Amazon (affiliate) or the Christian Book website.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of these Bible journals from Thomas Nelson in exchange for a fair and honest review.
