Who Sang the First Song? - A Children's Book Review
You may know the name Ellie Holcomb, but mostly likely it’s not from her children’s books. I was first made aware of Ellie through her husband’s band, “Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors.” She then branched out and released some solo music and now she has ventured into the world of children’s books.
Who Sang the First Song? is a beautiful story pointing to God’s creation of the world. Ellie’s style definitely comes out as a singer/songwriter in the way she tells this story. The beautiful thing is that this is a book that both parents and children will appreciate. My two year old daughter loves flipping through the pages.
I think the real highlight of this book is the illustrations. This book has beautiful artwork. It’s hard to stress that aspect enough. The colors are vibrant and the pictures are appealing not just to my child, but also to me. This book is truly a work of art.
You won’t go wrong with picking up a copy of Who Sang the First Song? Ellie Holcomb is a great musician, but she’s also written an incredible children’s book. This is a book you and your child will both enjoy reading over and over again.
