Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mostly write about Christian Living, but I enjoy the Kentucky Wildcats, New Orleans Saints, and a good cup of coffee.

A Bible Rebind from Logos Rebinding

A Bible Rebind from Logos Rebinding

Logos Rebinding is still fairly new to the rebinding game, but he has been quickly making a name for himself. I reached out to Logos about getting my favorite block rebound—the ESV Preaching Bible Verse-by-Verse—and we talked through the details and before I knew it, I was opening a gorgeous and freshly rebound Bible. I’ve used this Bible pretty extensively and put it through its paces and I’m excited to share it with you today.

I decided to go for a black and gold theme on this Bible. I chose black sokoto goatskin for the cover. The grain on the sokoto Logos used is out of this world. You can really feel it as you run your fingers over it. There’s also a tooled perimeter line on the cover that’s a nice subtle detail and gives the cover a bit more character than if it were just plain.

There’s gold perimeter stitching, which also is a nice accent piece to spice up a black cover. These little details are what I love about Bible rebinds. There are so many black Bibles in the world, but gold stitching really gives it some nice character and makes it pop. I also asked for a full yapp on this Bible, which is another great statement piece on a Bible. It’s rare to see a mass produced full yapp Bible, but a good rebind like Logos does can give your Bible loads of character.

Speaking of character, I took a chance and asked him to do something I wasn’t sure if I’d like or not. I’ve always loved spine hubs, but I asked if he’d put gold gilt accents around the hubs to really set them off. I wasn’t totally sure if I’d like this, but after receiving the Bible, I’m so glad I went for it. They look great and Logos did a great job adding this detail.

Aside from the accents, my spine is simple. It has “HOLY BIBLE” and “ESV” stamped in gold. It also has the Logos Rebinding logo stamped at the bottom with no color, which was signature to most of his rebinds for quite some time. He now stamps his logo in gold and it looks excellent!

I do want to take a moment to comment on the roundedness (is that a word) of the spine. I love a rounded spine and Logos spine curve is up there with the best of them. You won’t find much better than what this guy is doing!

He also gave me three gold Berisford ribbon bookmarks. The Berisfords are just unmatched in quality and the gold ones are beautiful. Another nice little detail is that he used black leather head and tail bands. Many people use fabric, but the leather is a nice touch.

Inside is a black calfskin liner and black end sheets. One thing I’d like to point out that only a few rebinders do is the gold perimeter gilt line inside. This is such a beautiful touch on my black and gold Bible. His gilt line is thick and looks great. I’m a huge fan of this feature. Also, let me make sure to mention that his corner work is excellent. You just don’t get corners like this on Bibles from bigger companies.

All in all, Logos rebinding was a pleasure to work with and his work is excellent! I personally believe he’s quickly rising to be one of the top rebinders out there. I highly recommend his work. You need to get a Bible rebound by him before his wait times go through the roof. He’s that good! If you do choose to use Logos, be sure to tell him Cam sent ya!
