Today I'm partnering with the good people over at Westminster Books to bring you a review of the ESV Heirloom Alpha in Wellington leather. This is a beautiful Bible that I call my unicorn.
When Crossway released the ESV Creeds and Confessions Bible in TruTone, it was a game changer. It was a high quality block at a very affordable price. It has been used, abused, rebound, and made more premium than many could ever dream. The block I’m reviewing today has the potential to be the next game changer for Crossway.
One of my favorite things about Crossway’s Bibles is that they are constantly using interesting leather. The Bible I’m looking at today is no exception. It has a unique design with beautiful, natural cowhide leather that will develop tons of character over time! Let’s check it out.
I was still learning a lot about Bibles and reviewing when I first reviewed the ESV Preaching Bible back in 2019. Since then, I’ve seen a lot, learned a lot, and I haven’t looked at this Bible that was a major player in my journey of Bible reviewing in a very long time.
I remember when Crossway introduced the Bible world to Horween leather. It was fun, it was exciting, and it was short lived. My Horween Bibles from Crossway are still some of my favorites. When they announced they were introducing yet another new leather, I think we all waited and wondered if this could be the next big thing.
It’s always exciting to get review a brand new Bible. That makes the reviewing the Heirloom Alpha from Crossway especially exciting. It’s a Bible we’ve never seen before so everyone is curious about it. Let’s not waste anymore time and jump right in.
Crossway is no stranger to making nice Bibles! Their new New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs is no exception. Today I’m reviewing both the black genuine leather edition and the TruTone Chestnut edition. I can easily say that both are excellent editions and you won’t go wrong with either one.
It’s no secret that I think the ESV Verse-by-Verse Preaching Bible is currently the best ESV on the market. Its beautiful type setting paired with its generous price are a hard to beat combination.
I’m a big fan of Crossway and most everything they do with Bibles. I don’t always love their cross reference placement though. Some of their best editions have the cross references in the bottom corner of the page in a small paragraph. That’s why I wanted to check out the Reference Bible, where the references are placed in a center column. It’s only offered in TruTone and I’m reviewing the Coffee color. Let’s dive in!

The Bible I’m reviewing today certainly strikes me as interesting. It’s a bit of a conundrum albeit a beautiful one. We will talk more about that late though. I’m reviewing the new 2022 ESV Heirloom Thinline in black goatskin.
If we’re honest, it’s been past time for men to step up in the church. God created men to lead and for far too long we have shunned that role. Good leadership starts with knowing and following God, which is why I’m excited to talk about the new ESV Men’s Study Bible from Crossway.
