The ESV New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs in TruTone and Genuine Leather

Crossway is no stranger to making nice Bibles! Their new New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs is no exception. Today I’m reviewing both the black genuine leather edition and the TruTone Chestnut edition. I can easily say that both are excellent editions and you won’t go wrong with either one.

The TruTone comes in a slip cover while the genuine leather comes in a clamshell box.

Out of the box, the New Testaments are gorgeous. The TruTone is a beautiful brown and feels so nice and smooth. I keep saying artificial leather is getting better and better and this edition is no exception! The genuine leather feels great in the hand and has a nice perimeter tooled line.

The TruTone’s spine is blind stamped while the genuine leather has the words in gold. Both have the ESV logo and say, “NEW TESTAMENT with Psalms and Proverbs” and “Crossway”. Each edition has gold page edges and each Bible has two single-sided satin ribbon bookmarks. If I’m honest, two bookmarks is a really nice feature for a New Testament!

Both Bibles feature paste down liners. The TruTone has a paper paste down liner while the genuine leather has a vinyl paste down liner.

Both Bibles have the same layout and paper. This is a single column layout that looks awesome! There’s plenty of line spacing. The text features gold accents for subheadings and chapter numbers. The font size is a generous 8.5 and it reads great. I’m really impressed by these New Testaments.

If you’re an ESV fan then you want at least one of these. The TruTone is great as well as the genuine leather. I’d grab one because they’re fantastic to read from, travel well, and are incredibly useful.
