The ESV Personal Reference Bible
I review a lot of premiums, but it’s really nice to get ahold of an awesome, cheap Bible every now and then and give it a review. The ESV Personal Reference Bible is just that. This Bible is awesome and I can’t believe I didn’t know about it. It’s also cheap, which means you can throw it in a bag and take it wherever you’re going without worrying about it. It’s also personal size so if your back pocket is big enough, you might just be able to shove it in there as well!
This Bible comes in a couple of different cover options, but both are TruTone. I think Crossway’s TruTone is getting better and better and this Bible has a nice cover! I opted for the one with dark brown and lighter brown running through the middle. I really like it. The page edges are gold and it has a single ribbon bookmark. The Smyth-sewn binding makes me really tempted to rebind this Bible, but I also like the cheaper cover because it makes you want to use it more.
There’s a light brown paper liner inside. The paper is decently opaque and it actually looks like the text is line matched, which is awesome. The type size is an 8 point and is quite readable.
The layout of this Bible is what makes it amazing. It’s a personal size with a single column, paragraph style. What I love most is the references are in the inner margin. I love when publishers put references here and I wish Crossway would do more this way! This Bible is so great!
