The NLT Large Print Thinline Reference in Olive Green Genuine Leather
I never saw it coming, but I’ve become a big fan of thinline Bibles. Tyndale actually produces one of my favorites with their Large Print Thinline Reference. I was super excited to find out it was coming out in Olive Green and I knew I had to check it out.
The genuine leather has a great feel. It’s nice and flexible. The color is a beautiful deep green that can almost look black in lower light. Tyndale always does a simple spine layout and I love the gold accent color on it and the page edges. This Bible features a lighter green head and tail band as well as a single light green ribbon bookmark.
Inside is a black vinyl paste-down liner and black vinyl end sheets. The Bible is Smyth-sewn for durability.
The paper in this Bible doesn’t seem thick, but ghosting is minimal and the text seems to be line matched as best I can tell. The Bible has a two column layout with words of Christ in red. There are thousands of cross-references. References and translation notes are located at the bottom right of the right side page. The font is a 10.25 point, which is very readable.
In the back is what Tyndale calls “A Visual Overview of the Bible,” which I honestly really like. It has a really cool layout of the Psalms and features some other interesting charts and layouts as well.
On top of that, this Bible is filament enabled. I downloaded the filament app to see what it was all about. Tyndale is paving new roads by bridging physical Bibles with technology. The app is pretty impressive if you choose to use it. On the top center of every page is an icon with the page number and when you use the app to scan that icon, you’ll be taken to a lot of information and study helps that have to do with the verses you’ve been reading on that page. It’s a very innovative feature.
This is a really nice Bible! I love the green and I love the features. It’s very readable and very portable. If you you enjoy the NLT then you won’t go wrong with this one!
