Can I be honest with you? I think Study Bibles are hard to review and are rarely worth the effort it takes to review them. Wow… I can’t believe I actually wrote that. That being said, The Grace and Truth Study Bible from Zondervan is absolutely incredible. It is the reason I keep reviewing Study Bibles. In fact, it has made it into my top two Study Bibles and I find it an incredibly valuable resource.
Sometimes you need to spend some time apart to truly appreciate something. I saw this Bible a long time ago and I don’t think I truly gave it the love it deserved. I’m talking about the Premier Collection NASB 95 Preacher’s Bible from Zondervan.
Zondervan keeps knocking it out of the park with their newly released Bibles. The NASB ‘95 Classic Reference Bible is no exception. This is a beautiful Bible with some unique features. It’s one of those Bibles that is not quite Premier Collection, but is pretty stinkin’ close! What I love about that is that it means that it has a premium feel with a less-than-premium price tag! Let’s check it out.
Zondervan has been flooring me with their designs lately. They’ve been taking chances and I love it! I’m cheering them on and I hope they keep going because the Bible I’m reviewing today will visually blow you away. Zondervan pulled out all the stops with this design and it totally works! This Premier Collection NRSV Personal Size Large Print Bible with Apocrypha isn’t just a Bible, it’s a statement piece!
There are a lot of study Bibles out there and it’s hard to know which one to choose. Many study Bibles have different features and focuses. If I could summarize in one word what I think the main feature is of the fully revised NIV Study Bible it would be “COLOR!” This Study Bible is colorful and really catches your attention when you open it. Today I’m reviewing the calfskin edition. Let’s take a closer look.
I have been really excited about this Bible for a long time. If I’m honest with you, the New International Version isn’t even in my top five translation wise, but this is a study Bible and the value in study Bibles are the notes. This is also a premium Bible and I can’t believe what Zondervan has done with this thing! You’ve got a blue Bible with a red liner and a semi-yapp. I saw it online and was like, “Man, I’ve got to see this thing for myself!” Not only that, Dr. Albert Mohler, the president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary—my alma mater—is the general editor. To say I’m excited about getting to review this Bible is an understatement! I thought it looked great online, but it has blown me away in person.
The NASB 2020 is still very new and Zondervan finally has introduced their first offerings of this highly anticipated translation. They have released both a thinline and large print thinline of the NASB 2020. Today, I’m reviewing the thinline. Is it worth picking up a copy?
Zondervan has been releasing some awesome Bibles lately. I was excited to find out they were releasing a Bible in blue buffalo leather and knew I had to try and review it. What I didn't expect, however, was the overwhelming response I received when I posted a snapshot of it in a Bible Facebook group in which I participate. This Bible has a lot of interesting features and I"m excited to get share them with you.
I shot a video over on Instagram comparing the two releases of Zondervan’s Premier Collection SCR. In short, the second edition has different leather on the cover and the text has been moved out of the gutter. I really like the text adjustment, but I prefer the leather on the first edition. To find a verse-by-verse layout in the New International Version is apparently a hard task, but the good people at Zondervan have said, "No more!" The newest addition to their Premier Collection is the Preacher's Bible in verse-by-verse format. This Bible is geared toward the preacher and teacher and will serve them well as they share God's Word.
When I seriously began reading the Bible for myself, I started with the New American Standard Bible Translation. I loved it, but then came the English Standard Version. The ESV was marketed so well that I made the switch and never looked back. Zondervan's acquisition of rights to print the NASB has brought a resurgence! I have jumped back in to the translation that started it all for me and I've really been enjoying it.
Thanks to Zondervan, the New American Standard Bible has made a strong come back. They have created several new offerings as well as having more in the works. The NASB is a great, literal translation of the Bible and it has been great for a company to pick it up and start offering new Bibles.
