What I didn't expect, however, was the overwhelming response I received when I posted a snapshot of it in a Bible Facebook group in which I participate. This Bible has a lot of interesting features and I"m excited to get share them with you.

A Harsh Word

Wrath just sounds like a harsh word, doesn’t it? It sounds way worse than punishment or even anger. It seems more in the category of fury, destruction, and violence. Yet wrath is an attribute given to God. He is wrathful and one day sinners will face his wrath.

Where is Justice?

We're living in a time where justice is a hot topic. People are crying out for justice for wrongs they perceive as having been done by others. They want it here and they want it now. Yet there are all kinds of injustices that don't even get talked about. There are people in other countries who don't have access to clean water while many of us use tons of it just to bathe or wash our dishes. There are people who don't have a Bible in their language while we English speakers have an abundance of translations. Even more so, there are some people who have never even heard the gospel at all and have no idea that a Savior has come to offer them the most incredible gift ever. Where is the justice in all of this?

Love and Grace

Grace is a polarizing topic and it is easily misunderstood. On the one hand, you can be someone who says they believe in grace, but you still feel like God is keeping a "good works tally" on you so you better be doing the right things. In essence, you still kind of feel like you have to earn your salvation. On the other hand, you may be someone who feels like grace is the best news ever and that you can get by with some little sins here or there because God has to forgive you.

What if I Don't Feel Like Going to Church by Gunner Gundersen: A Book Review

I’ve quickly become a big fan of the 9Marks Church Questions series. This series is growing with handy little books that are full of truth focusing on a single question many church members may have. They are perfect to hand out to people and require little time commitment to read. Don’t let that fool you though. They are packed with biblical truth that will really help those to whom they are addressed.

The Pastor's Kid by Barnabas Piper: A Book Review

I’m a first generation pastor. By that, I mean that neither my dad nor my grandfathers were pastors. Pastoring is new territory for me and I definitely still have a lot to learn. One thing I do know though is that my kids will experience something completely different as children of a pastor than I did growing up. I want navigate that as best I can, which is why I’m grateful for Barnabas Piper’s book, The Pastor’s Kid.

A Call For Christian Charity

I’d like to posit the question, "Do we look attractive today?" My short answer to that question is, "No." Anyone with eyes can see the United States is a very divided nation right now. A quick glance at Christian Facebook or Twitter reveals the same thing about Christians. We honestly don’t look very different from the world…
