Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I mostly write about Christian Living, but I enjoy the Kentucky Wildcats, New Orleans Saints, and a good cup of coffee.

The Crossway ESV Wide Margin Reference Bible

The Crossway ESV Wide Margin Reference Bible

I’m not one to write in nicer Bibles, but the ESV Wide Margin Reference Bible just begs to be written in. This may be the first nie ESV that I write in and I’m pretty excited about it. Another interesting feature to notice right out of the gate is that this is one of the few ESVs that has the words of Christ in red. Let’s take a closer look at this unique ESV.

This Bible is in black top grain leather. It comes in a white box with a picture of the Bible on the front. I always enjoy Crossway’s top grain. It has a distinct feel and the grain looks incredible. It’s nice and flexible as well. It also has a tooled perimeter line that is unique to their top grain leather.

The spine has four raised ribs and printed in gold are the words “HOLY BIBLE”, the ESV logo, “ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION”, and the Crossway logo. There are two black single-sided satin ribbons that aren’t anything special. There are black and yellow head and tail bands that are unique and add a lot of character. This Bible also has gold gilt on the page edges.

This Bible is edge-lined and Smyth-sewn for durability. The inside of this Bible feels to be lined with a black calfskin. There are also black vinyl end sheets.

The paper inside this Bible is nice and white. The text is line matched and overall looks really good. This Bible has a 9 point font and I could wish it was just a bit larger, but it is still quite readable and a nice layout.

Speaking of layouts, this Bible is double column with one inch margins on each side. Cross referencers are at the bottom right hand corner of each page. I think a single column wide margin is even better for notes, but I do love that this Bible has a good amount of room beside each column.

I’ll go as far as to say that if I was recommending a double column wide margin Bible for notetaking, it would be this one. Many love the Cambridge, but I personally prefer a larger font and this one is a whole point larger than the Cambridge.

If you’re looking for a good wide margin, look no further than the Crossway Wide Margin Reference Bible. It’s really nice and the price is great as well. I definitely recommend giving this one some serious consideration!

You can pick up a copy of the ESV Wide Margin Reference Bible from Crossway or on Amazon (affiliate).

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this Bible from Crossway in exchange for a fair and honest review.
