The Crossway ESV Wide Margin Reference Bible

I’m not one to write in nicer Bibles, but the ESV Wide Margin Reference Bible just begs to be written in. This may be the first nie ESV that I write in and I’m pretty excited about it. Another interesting feature to notice right out of the gate is that this is one of the few ESVs that has the words of Christ in red. Let’s take a closer look at this unique ESV.

The Crossway Heirloom Heritage in Horween Leather

I’m partnering with Westminster Books to bring you a review of Crossway’s Heirloom Heritage in Horween leather. I will say up front that I’m not typically a brown Bible kind of guy, but I love the Horween leather. I love it in the dark brown even. Let’s take a moment before we review the Bible itself to talk about why Horween leather is so special and different from other types of leather.

Reformed Systematic Theology Volume 3

Nothing beats a good Systematic Theology in my opinion. There’s so much to learn and it can truly be a devotional reading experience. I think the term “Systematic Theology” along with the size of the volumes naturally intimidates people, but it really shouldn’t. Read a short bit at a time and think through it then repeat. Eventually you will have read the whole volume. All that being said, I am excited for Volume Three of Reformed Systematic Theology from Joel Beeke and Paul Smalley.

The Collected Works of John Piper

There are no words to describe the huge blessing John Piper has been to the global church. I was first introduced to Piper through the Passion college ministry run by Louie Giglio. I then got a copy of Desiring God and it turned my world upside down. I remember reading it late into the night in my parents basement and waking up in the floor with the book still open in front of me. I know there are thousands or more who have stories they could share about the way Piper has impacted them.

Corporate Worship by Matt Merker

I’ve enjoyed every book I’ve read in the 9Marks Building Healthy Churches series. The newest offering, Corporate Worship by Matt Merker, is no exception. Merker has given both church leaders and church members a very helpful tool with this work. This volume is short, but packed with a lot of great information.

The Psalms in the ESV by Crossway in Top Grain Leather

The Psalms are a gift to the church. In them you find a Spirit-inspired range of emotions. The Psalms are comforting and God exalting. They can be used for prayer, singing, and meditation. Having a great copy of the Psalms can be a valuable resource and Crossway has provided just that with their lovely top grain edition of the Psalms. This edition comes in other bindings, but I will be looking at the top grain specifically.

Publishers, Books, and Resources You Should Pay Attention To: Spring 2021 Addition

I’ve gotten to the point where I’m receiving so many books that I can’t possibly read them all. In this post, I want to highlight some publishers and books that you should be paying attention to and that I think will make an impact in your life in one way or another. I received complimentary copies of these books from the publishers, but they are books I was specifically interested in and think you should be paying attention to as well.

The Crossway ESV Preaching Bible Verse-by-Verse Edition Review

I’ve been waiting for this Bible for a long time. I heard about it early in the year and I’ve been anticipating it ever since. The ESV Preaching Bible Verse-by-Verse edition is a single-column verse-by-verse ESV from Crossway. Crossway produced a single column verse-by-verse edition of the ESV back in 2011 and it went out of print and has been somewhat of a unicorn in the Bible community. People have been eagerly anticipating the return of a similar format. Does it live up to the hype?

The Crossway Heirloom Single Column Personal Size Bible

I won’t lie. I’m a fan of most everything Crossway does. They’ve gotten some pushback after moving their premium production to China, but by-in-large, I’ve still been a fan. One Bible that I’ve seen taking a lot of shots is the Heirloom Single Column Personal Size Bible. I think a lot of the hate going Crossway’s way has been undue so I wanted to form an opinion for myself on this Bible. Thanks to my partner, Westminster Books, I’m bringing you this review today.

The ESV Study Bible in Deep Brown Cowhide

I am a huge fan of the ESV Study Bible. I've had a hardback copy for as long as I can remember and I also use the digital version quite regularly. This Study Bible is such an excellent resource that I wanted to check out some of the finest bindings on the market. I've reviewed the Heirloom version here and today I'm pleased to get to bring you a review of the ESV Study Bible in deep brown cowhide.
