The Schuyler ESV Quentel in Slate Goatskin

Schuyler is a small company that honestly not enough people have heard about. Unless you’re "in the know" when it comes to premium Bibles, then you may have never heard of Schuyler. The average person sitting at your church is most likely clueless when it comes to premium Bibles and companies like Schuyler. It’s time to spread the word. Schuyler makes some of the nicest Bibles on the market. Among premium enthusiasts, the Quentel needs no introduction. However, we need to spread the word among those who aren’t in the know. It’s my joy to bring a review today of the Schuyler ESV Quentel in Slate Goatskin and to help spread the word.

The Puritan Classics Box Set

I’m once again partnering with my good friends at Westminster Books to bring you a really exciting review today. The Puritans have written works that contain a treasure trove of information. Vast riches can be found within their pages. Countless people have benefited greatly from their works. For the longest time, these have come in the form of Puritan Paperbacks, but now many of the classic works of the Puritans have been bound in beautiful hardcover books and placed in a box set. I’ll go ahead and say straight up that if you value Puritan literature, you’re going to want this box set.

Publishers, Books, and Resources You Should Pay Attention To: Spring 2021 Addition

I’ve gotten to the point where I’m receiving so many books that I can’t possibly read them all. In this post, I want to highlight some publishers and books that you should be paying attention to and that I think will make an impact in your life in one way or another. I received complimentary copies of these books from the publishers, but they are books I was specifically interested in and think you should be paying attention to as well.

The Cambridge NKJV Topaz Review

I’ve been a long-time fan of the Cambridge Topaz. Originally, it was released in the ESV, and I was pretty quick to herald it as the best ESV Bible in print. Even now, I may still give it that title. The folks at Cambridge Bibles realized that it just wouldn’t be fair to keep all the goodness packed in the Topaz exclusive to the ESV lovers out there so they have now released it in the New King James Version. The NKJV Topaz brings with it a green goatskin option and a couple of options in calf-split leather. Today, I have the pleasure of reviewing the NKJV Topaz in black goatskin. Let’s see if the Topaz lives up to the hype in the New King James Version.

A Review of a Rebind from Hill Bible Binding

One area of the premium Bible world that needs more attention is rebinds. Rebinds are amazing because they can give old Bibles new life or they can let you take a favorite Bible and customize it’s design. The sky can truly be the limit with a Bible rebind. Today I’m excited to feature a review of a rebind from Becky Hill at Hill Bible Binding. I had always been impressed with Becky’s work so I knew I wanted to see it up close for myself.

Robby Gallaty, Long Hollow, Baptisms, and Discipleship

What gives me pause is how Long Hollow is stewarding this massive move of the Spirit. They have totally bought into the online campus model. They consider their live stream a literal online campus. They have prayer groups meeting online, they are pushing online children’s and student (youth) ministries, and they even have an online campus pastor. For all intents and purposes they consider online just as much a campus as the main campus people are physically at when you’re watching online.

Deep Simplicity by Emily Darnell: A Book Review

Honestly, I hadn’t heard of Emily Darnell until I was approached about reviewing this book. However, I think she’s written a book that would benefit all of us in this current cultural climate. Our news feeds are packed with headlines that seem to only be creating division in our world. Our social feeds are doing much of the same. If you’re like me, you can leave these spheres feeling anxious and stressed. There is one solution that will truly give rest to the heart when you feel this way—abiding in Christ.

The Tyndale Select in Black Calfskin

The New Living Translation is one that has been growing on me. It’s highly readable and definitely can be useful among the popular translations. As I’ve come to enjoy it more, I really wanted to get my hands on a premium copy to check out and review. I’m excited to finally have the opportunity to bring you a review of the Tyndale Select. This, I believe, is the nicest copy of the NLT that Tyndale produces. It is also quite expensive! Does this Bible justify the price tag? Let’s talk about it!

Without a Doubt by Dean Inserra

In the current season of COVID-19, many people are asking good questions regarding God and faith. Some are experiencing doubts of whether they truly know God and are known by him. Other may be on the opposite end and should be asking these questions, but they aren’t…

The ESV Devotional Psalter in Top Grain Leather

The Psalms are such a staple in the Bible. In them, we get the full range of human emotion. We get so much depth and insight into the Lord in the Psalms. We could spend the rest of our lives in the Psalms alone and never fully mine the riches contained within. I love the Psalms and I’m excited to bring you a unique review today from the good people at Crossway. The ESV Devotional Psalter is a beautiful edition of the Psalms that also includes a devotion from Dane Ortlund for each Psalm.
