To say I was a little excited for this book’s release would be an understatement. I have listened on and off to the Ask Pastor John Podcast for quite some time. Certainly longer than I can remember.
Welcome to my blog. I mostly write about Christian Living, but I enjoy the Kentucky Wildcats, New Orleans Saints, and a good cup of coffee.
To say I was a little excited for this book’s release would be an understatement. I have listened on and off to the Ask Pastor John Podcast for quite some time. Certainly longer than I can remember.
We live in a time where it could be argued that we are more connected than ever. Phones, tablets, social media, and online gaming make talking to someone as easy as picking up a device and tapping the screen a few times. However, people seem more lonely, sad, and anxious than they’ve ever been. What’s going on?
When Crossway released the ESV Creeds and Confessions Bible in TruTone, it was a game changer. It was a high quality block at a very affordable price. It has been used, abused, rebound, and made more premium than many could ever dream. The block I’m reviewing today has the potential to be the next game changer for Crossway.
This is it. This is the one I’ve been waiting for! The single column verse-by-verse setting is probably my favorite Bible layout. It is crazy to me that it’s not available in certain translations. However, the dominoes are slowly falling and the New King James Version is the next to fall. Finally, we have this layout in the NKJV!
One of my favorite things about Crossway’s Bibles is that they are constantly using interesting leather. The Bible I’m looking at today is no exception. It has a unique design with beautiful, natural cowhide leather that will develop tons of character over time! Let’s check it out.
It is a great joy to many Bible lovers to see the NASB 95 gaining new editions. Between the NASB 95, the NASB 2020, and the LSB, the NASB seems to have an identity crisis. I would say, however, that the 1995 is still the most popular by far and to see it gaining new—and very nice—editions is something many of us are celebrating.
I was still learning a lot about Bibles and reviewing when I first reviewed the ESV Preaching Bible back in 2019. Since then, I’ve seen a lot, learned a lot, and I haven’t looked at this Bible that was a major player in my journey of Bible reviewing in a very long time.
I love Westminster Books. They’re a great store that offers great deals and they’re certainly worthy of support. I love getting to partner with them and highlight awesome things they are selling. It’s Cyber Monday so I want to share with you my top 3 items that I’d grab from them today!
Steadfast continually knocks it out of the park with their new LSB editions. They have been missing something super portable for awhile now and they have answered that call with the Compact Edition. It comes in all sorts of flavors with tons of faux leather options all the way to goatskin and edge-lined.
Sometimes you just have a vision for a rebind. That’s exactly how I feel about the rebind I’m reviewing today. I’ve been admiring the work from Reformed and Rebound for quite some time and he seems to only be getting better. I knew I wanted to check out his work and I knew just the Bible to send him. Let’s take a look.
I love liturgy. The order and rhythm of it is beneficial to the soul. I also love Christmas. Advent devotionals changed my life. They helped make my Christmas more meaningful. Like the author, Jonathan Gibson, I have recently found them leaving something to be desired.
